Humanity is poised on the threshold of a golden age. Maitreya, the World Teacher has stepped forward.
Seen by millions on both TV and the internet, Maitreya has given His first interviews on American television. He spoke earnestly of the need for peace, achievable only through the creation of justice and sharing of the world’s resources. His open mission has begun. These are the first of many such interviews which will be given in the USA, Japan, Europe and elsewhere. As teacher and guide, He seeks to inspire us to create a better world. The choice is yours. What will you choose?
He has been expected for generations by all of the major religions. Christians know him as the Christ, and expect his imminent return. Jews await him as the Messiah; Hindus look for the coming of Krishna; Buddhists expect him as Maitreya Buddha; and Muslims anticipate the Imam Mahdi or Messiah.
Although the names are different, many believe that they all refer to the same individual: the World Teacher, whose personal name is Maitreya (pronounced my-tray-ah).
Preferring to be known simply as the Teacher, Maitreya has not come as a religious leader, or to found a new religion, but as a teacher and guide for people of every religion and those of none.
At this time of great political, economic and social crisis Maitreya, will inspire humanity to see itself as one family, and create a civilization based on sharing, economic and social justice, and global co-operation.
He will launch a call to action to save the millions of people who starve to death every year in a world of plenty. Among Maitreya's recommendations will be a shift in social priorities so that adequate food, housing, education, and medical care become universal rights.
Under Maitreya's inspiration, humanity itself will make the required changes and create a saner and more just world for all.
Day of Declaration
At
the earliest possible moment, Maitreya will demonstrate his true identity.
Through a growing public response to his presence, Maitreya will be invited
to speak to the entire world via the linked television satellite networks.
On this Day of Declaration, we will see his face on television, but he will
not actually speak. Instead, each of us will hear his words telepathically
in our own language as he simultaneously impresses the minds of all humanity.
Even those who are not watching Maitreya on television will have this experience.
His energy of love will enter the hearts of all, galvanizing humanity to save
the world. At the same time, hundreds of thousands of spontaneous healings
will take place throughout the world. In this way we will know that Maitreya
is truly the World Teacher for all humanity.

The
Awakening

Now that Maitreya has stepped forward into the open arena of the world and has appeared several times in full view of the television cameras, we can take stock of what has been achieved so far and, to some extent, interpret the reaction of those who have seen and heard Him. Bear in mind that in these preliminary approaches to the public, Maitreya has been careful not to frighten away those He wishes to help by too great an emphasis on change, too drastic and radical a programme for renewal. While critical of our present practices in financial matters, bringing pain and hardship to millions, He praised men for their many achievements and their readiness to aspire to the creation of a better world.
The response, so far, could be classified as muted but thoughtful, echoing the quiet earnestness of Maitreya’s thought. One must remember that Maitreya was presented as an ordinary man, one of us, and not as a Messiah figure from on high. Thus, reactions of men were natural and honest, a true reflection of their fears and hopes. Of course, reactions varied with the background of the viewer, but Maitreya is well pleased with the response thus far.
Change
From this point on, Maitreya will ‘step up’ the need for urgent change, the necessity for peace based on justice and sharing. He will also focus attention on the plight of planet Earth and the responsibility of men for its problems. Thus will the Great Lord orchestrate a mounting crescendo of action for the re-establishment of our world and life.
Interviews of this kind will continue to be given around the world, awakening men everywhere to their opportunity to set to rights their life, to create justice and peace by sharing, to see themselves as One, to end forever the competition and greed which for so long has held men back from their destined path to divinity.
Thus will Maitreya coax men out of their long slumber and awaken their desire for change. Thus will grow a great informed World Public Opinion, the greatest force on Earth.
Against that mighty force no reactionary platform can stand. Humanity itself, inspired and vitalized by Maitreya, will reinvent their future, and through freedom and justice for all establish the Era of Goodwill and Manifested Love.
The Master — is a senior member of the Hierarchy (not Maitreya) of the Masters of Wisdom; his name, well-known in esoteric circles, is not yet being revealed for various reasons. Benjamin Creme is in constant telepathic contact with this Master who dictates His monthly articles to him since 1982.
